Civic Literacy and Engagement: Working to make a difference in the civic life of. our communities and developing the. combination of knowledge, skills, values, and. motivation to make that difference
Aloha! My teacher Mr. Adam is a Humanities teacher. He has assigned the project title “The Bill.” In this assignment, we are recreating a Bill. This is of course not real but we plan on making it as realistic as possible. My topic is on Pushing Big Plastic Manufacturing companies to turn to a better alternative. This assignment has to include my statements, eligibility, benefits of service, administration, and authorization of appropriations. I selected this assignment to show how I can contribute to the community. Not only am I making an effort to bring ideas out to the world to fix big world problems in our society, but I also got a 19/20. This represents Civic Literacy and Engagement. I believe that this project correlates to the assignment because it contributes to the local and global environments and the people within. This assignment demonstrates my current growth in Kihei Charter. This project challenged me in different ways. It has made an impact on how I think about my world around me. It makes me feel like I need to do something, to fix this. I also believe it showcases my ability to come up with idea to solve problems. I believe this can be an opportunity to inspire new growth. I would like to improve on this by putting my idea to action.
